The British Flame Research Committee - a professional association providing the important bridge between industry and academia
- Promoting and publicising the recognition and understanding of R&D progress and the demands on industrial combustion to become more efficient & safe with minimum environmental impact.
The organisation covers specific themes such as power generation, metals, petrochemicals, cement, equipment suppliers and fuel services. Activities include Flame Days and specific topic oriented seminars which provide the members - a unique network of companies, research organisations and universities- with a common purpose in solving both todays and future energy challenges.
It was formed in 1956 and was a founder member of the International Flame Research Foundation. Many of the members of the organisation take an active part in the operation of the Foundation to provide the broader membership with a range of services such as technical information and specific dedicated training services.
